hi I emailed roxburgh to let them know I would not be paying the fine (see below) recieved no email response I still received letters, I then had them ring me on my works mobile! (can only assume ex partner gave them this number) asked them where they had got my number from, did not know! I then informed them that the number they had was not my number and that in accordance with the DPA they needed to remove it from my records which they said they would rang them back this morning guy twitttering on about the fine have recorded him did inform him that I was recording the call, to find out if they had removed the phone number, he said no but would do now, asked if there was a note on the computer he said there was and would remove it now, means the person didn't remove the number. Really don't need this company ringing me on works phone, and am really stressed.

It was a Elite parking company car park would really like to know contact details so I can pay the £2 owed, anyone have this info please. Plus any advice how to stop them stressing me out would be good

    Thanks

Thanks for your recent correspondence in relation to Parking Eye Ltd ref no. as detailed in the subject.

    I understand your reference to anecdotal information on the web, however, I must draw your attention to the following;

My stay in the car park unintentionally over ran I would have happily paid the access but facilities to do so were not available in the car park, and I am willing to pay the access fee based on the length of stay (28 mins overstay) as detailed in the car parks charges which I believe would be £2 as a full and final settlement for the unintended overstay. If you wish to contact me regarding this payment please send me details of how to pay. Otherwise I trust you will not communicate any further in respect of this matter as I am getting rather stressed and feel harassed by your communications.

    Kind regards

In answer to the original question.
I received letters from Parking Eye last year. I ignored the letters. PE made all sorts of vague threats and carried out none of them. They would, in fact, have lost any case because the person who parked my car did so entirely legitimately. When properly ignored PE goes away. End.

When they phone again, repeat this to them verbatim:

"I deny any debt exists, and in accordance with Office of Fair Trading guidelines you must now refer the matter back to your client. Any further contact from you or your company will be deemed harassment and legal action may be taken accordingly against you and your client in line with the Protection from Harassment Act 1997."

    Then end the call.

They should not call again. If they do then report back here and we can advise on how you could issue a claim against them in the small claims court for harassment.

I don't know why you are stressed with this, if they phone just hang up on them, they will give up and will not do court as they or their fake solicitors graham white have ever been there. You will probably find that they will keep on calling you despite what they say, you could try writing to them, but in my experience they will simply go away once they realise you are not falling for this scam.
Excel Parking, MET Parking, Combined Parking Solutions, VP Parking Solutions, ANPR PC Ltd, & Roxburghe Debt Collectors. What do they all have in common?
They are all or have been suspended from accessing the DVLA database for gross misconduct!
Do you really need to ask what kind of people run parking companies?

stressed because I don't want phone calls from them especially when I am at work, I have emailed them asking them to remove the contact phone number - hopefully this will work - letters are easier to ignore.

    Thanks People appreciated :D:)

No it won't work, you are assuming they are a reputable company.

See my text in post #35, this MIGHT well work. They won't want the OFT on to them, nor would they risk a claim for harassment.

We don’t condone not paying or overstaying in a pay car park. If you do owe the CPO anything, then you ought to write to them, offering this in “full and final settlement”.

Could you clarify a couple of points, please?

How does one ascertain who owns the car park?

And what form of payment would you recommend? I've seen advice here warning not to let companies see one's signature or bank details, so presumably a cheque is not a good idea. On the other hand, one would ideally require a traceable form of payment.

The car park I parked in had a lot of clear signs and half a dozen retailers. Surely Parking Eye can claim that my overstay meant 15 minutes lost revenue for the retailers??

Except that as was the case in one of the times a PPC took someone to court, the parking company wasn't a direct representative of the company themselves, which they'd need to be to pursue action.

Even if this were they case, they'd need to prove that this was the amount of revenue lost - eg that the car park was full and that the average spend was over/equal to the parking charge amount.
