we are in the process of maybe thinking about changing our car, our current mot test runs out on the 27th of april does anyone know how early we can get the car tested and have the expiry date later, as our current mot was done on the 4th of april 2006 and was dated to the 27th of april 2006

You can carry forward up to one month of you unexpired MOT provided the certificate is presented when you get the new MOT done. e.g. you have an MOT with two months left on it. You get a new test and the car passes. The new certification will run to 13 months from the test date. 1 month carried from the old MOT and 12 months from the new.0
