Help with student finance evidence during application please:

Hi guys, basically requring some help here please about my situation.
I've just been given an conditional offer for a college course and applied for student finance online. I'm 24 and have a child who lives away from me but have most weekends so I have applied as an Independent not a dependent.
In my application I said A child was not dependent on me as I receive no benefit for him etc but my name is on the birth certificate.
I have been working for 7 years (1 job and then moved on in september to a new one) but in februaury I lost my job through injury and was on ESA. I am due to come off next week and seeking employment (part time around my course)
My question is: They want a p60 or wage slips for the past 3 years but I do not think I have a p60 for my last job as I it in februaury and do not recall receiving one but I do before then. I also have most of my wage slips (I don't have all of them, some have been misplaced).
So what can I do? Or is the usual procedure if you do not have 3 consecutive years pay slips or p60's? or what's the procedure of sending a birth certificate, would it be pointless as my child isn't dependent on me most days.
P.S, I haven't called as I'm abroad at the moment.
Thanks for your time all.

Ask HMRC for a statement of earnings for 3 years and that should be ok. You will not be classed as independent just by having your name on the child's birth certificate.0

Thanks very much for your response. I shall try and get in touch with them and request that hopefully they comply with no bother. Also in regards to being independent, I thought that would be the case but generally speaking I am independent regardless of my child right?
Thanks again!0 -
It's care of a child. That would normally be demonstrated by receiving the child benefit.
I don't believe the regulations would allow it.0 -

Oh right I see. Thanks. Well I put down that I'm independent alone so should be fine. I'll request my last 3 years earning from HMRC and tell them what it's for.
Much appreciated.0 -
As I'm applying as a independent student, on the application where it asks which evidence I'm sending in, is a statement for earnings the equivalent of all p60's as it holds this information?
Not sure which option to select or would it be the " I cannot provide any evidence"
Thanks0
