Laptops with no Operating system..

I got some laptops from Morgan computer for Xmas presents. They were cheap but no OS. Stuck Mandrake 10.x comunity edition all worked fine including wireless

Now some of the family want more, but Morgans have no stock with no OS!

I noticed Ebuyer have some kit called barebones, but this usually means no CPU, Ram or HD! Anyone know what the spec is on the ebuyer stuff? Any used their barebone laptops?

I think the laptop would ship with a CPU as there are welded into the m/b on most of the ones I've seen. Ebuyer are not good at details on their systems etc. HDD and RAM is fine but I cannot believe there is no optical drive as these are specific to the laptop.

I've used their bare bones PC boxes but this CPU and Optical drives are NOT standard accross laptops IYSWIM?

Not bought one of these, so I can't say for deffo, but the info comes from buyer reviews of these systems. One of them seemed not too happy at finding his shiny new laptop half empty. I'd imagine it would be better to err on the side of caution, and assume that CPU is NOT included, nor the drives. No nasty shocks when you open the box that way!
