Not strictly eBay - weighing scales for postage?

Hello all,

Could anyone suggest a set of good quality scales for weighing letters please? I've looked at the usual ones on eBay and my only concern is they may be quite inaccurate. If anyone has a set of scales by a particular brand, which they could recommend I would be most appreciative.

Ive got Salter microtronic kitchen scales. Ive found these to be very accurate. The post office site used to offer some free cardboard ones(I know it sounds daft)that actually worked-take a look on their site. They post them to you. Only any good for letters, Not sure if they work now with new sizing though.

I've used this Hanson 3kg Add and Weigh Electronic Scale (£14.99 from Argos) over the last couple years and it's proved to be very accurate:

I purchased these ( see item no 110104075505 ) a year or so ago. They are professional postal scales. Will take up to 34KG in weight down to 2g accuracy. Ive recently started to use them to weigh my sacks of PPi business mail for Royal Mail dispatches and am very suprised they can take such heavy loads and yet weigh the smallest of items too. When Ive compared items Ive weighed to the post office scales they have been shown to be spot on.

Not as good looking as kitchen scales but very professional. You can run them on battery or adaptor and Im still on battery number one after a year.

I find that my PO is less accurate than my scales. The combination of the poor dear's eyesight, lack of knowledge and problems with the PC mean that I tend to be overcharged before I ask for it to be rechecked

I got a set of digital scales from an ebay seller a couple of years ago. They can weigh anything from 2g up to 14Kg. They seem to round up to the nearest 2g because the results are usually 1g or 2g more than the PO scales. Better over than under. They were also inexpensive. Unfortunately, the seller is no longer on Ebay.
