Traditional build vs timber frame

Hi. We are planning a rear single storey extension to our 1950's bungalow (approx 10m x 3.5m) for my in-laws, one of whom is disabled. We also plan to convert 2 adjoining garages, one integral. There is not a problem ref planning. The budget is very tight, but we need to get on with it. I have an architect that has come highly recommended visiting the site next week.
Can anyone advise on timber frame vs traditional build?
We have been quoted from £850 sq m for timber frame to £1150 sq m for traditional build. Will timber frame affect the resale value of the house?
Any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks.

Not that i am aware of many homes are built like this nowadays the bad press they had years ago due to problems with damp etc have been remedied in the way the timbers are treated.Hotels and flats are now built using this methodif you think peoples advice is helpfull please take the time to clicking the thank you button it gives great satisfaction0

personally I would build using traditional methods as I think the final result is marginally better, the biggest advantage with timber frame houses is speed of construction as the shell is erected in a couple of days and roof installed straightafter so watertight. Not sure you would get any cost savings as this is an extension rather than new build, traditional may be more user friendly to overcome any adjustements that may be required at the joint new / old0
