When was the last time you worked and paid National Insurance?

If you did have to claim ESA IR I have an idea of what the answer to your actual question would be but I will let someone else answer it first.

curious now, what would your answer be?
    thanks

My answer -which is not to be relied on- would be....

Assuming you are single and don't have savings of more than £16000 and no-one cares for you and claims carers allowance for doing so.....

On ESA IR you would get ESA at £99.15 per week plus an ESA disability premium £58.20
    Total £157.35 per week

From this your pension, DLA + IIDB will be deducted
    leaving you with £0.00 ESA

and you will have to live on.....(weekly)
    your pension = £92.30
    your DLA =£105.90
    your IIDB = £31.62
    Total £229.82 per week

All of which you will still receive.

If this is what happens and you already have your 30 years for state pension, you could consider closing the ESA claim as it won't be paying you anything it will only pay your NI for you.

You could phone 0800 882 200 (disability enquiry line) to confirm all of the above.

out of interest how much are you getting on ESA C now?
