  • If they're now with Powergen , what have they got to worry about . Surely BG cant come in and cut off another supplier ?

Estimated Billing will be done using a profile stored against the users account. The profile is setup so that estimates in winter are greater than the summer. Each account will have an Eastimated Annual consumption figure which the profile uses to calculate the estimated reading.

You need to get the estimated consumption figure set to 0 or a very low figure. This way each time you get a bill it should only be nominal or for standing charge only (if applicable to your tariff).

I used to work for BG and Powergen so have a bit of knowledge about this.

Oh yes thats a good idea increase the fine......so where do they get the money from to pay the fine ?????
Yes thats right from the customers who have to pay more

If they increase the fine then they will start to give correct advice and help. That way the customer doesn't pay for the fine. I do realise this is in an idealistic world and unfortunately we don't live in one, but BG really need to get their act together. I know an elderly gentleman who had a similar problem with BG they said his bill was over £800 he is living in a 2 bed terraced house on his own with one gas fire, no radiators no gas cooker all he has is one gas fire in his living room. They were coming to cut him off so he contact CAB who dealt with it all for him. The £800 bill was actually for someone else with the same name different town. How on earth did they get that mixed up
