hi there everyone,
the northeast tyneside was hit with flash floods and i really need some advice for a friend, she works at a company which provided her with a home computer which amongst everything else this PC is severely water damaged, she pays so much every week until its paid off kinda like a hire purchase i think, well she isn't even half way through paying for this PC, her company states that has to continue paying until fully paid off. are there any options or well anything she can do not just about having to continue paying for something never to used again but can she get another PC..............with her job she does go into work but she does need to have a home PC due to the work she does, she doesn't have a clue about what to do and im at a total lose myself, which is why im posting this, any advice is greatly appreciated.
thank you and takecare

I would think her only hope will be if she is covered by house insurance !!
Think of it with a different scenario, if she bought it on credit from a high street retailer and the same thing happened, it has nothing to do with the retailer !!
No doubt if she had bought it from Curry's they would have pressurised her into to taking out a 'whatever happens careplan' but she didn't buy it and I can't see her employer having taken out any such plan for her !!
Lets hope she has adequate insurance cover.0 -
Suggest that she checks the terms of her agreement. Without knowing what it says, difficult to comment. As you mention to Home Insurers that the computer was provided by a company and is related to work, they may ask for more info. The comments I post are personal opinion. Always refer to official information sources before relying on internet forums. If you have a problem with any organisation, enter into their official complaints process at the earliest opportunity, as sometimes complaints have to be started within a certain time frame.0

Computers can be picked up very cheaply. As long as you dont need to play games on it.
Ive got the bits left over from my orignal computer bought in 1997. It will still run windows XP.
Value wise its worthless.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0
