Hi,
I've done something rather silly. I signed up for new House insurance with Tesco in May (22nd) and forgot to sign the form and send it back for the credit agreement.
The 1st payment is due on the 1st July, I will phone them in the morning first thing, but, have I just made the insurance nul and void, what happens now???
Can someone help me to avoid a very sleepless night please?
Thank you

When is/was the cover due to start, the 1st?
You won't have any cover until they get a payment.0 -
thanks for replying.
the cover started on 10th June 2012 up until 10th June 2013.
the date of the first collection of payment is the 1st July.
how can we not be covered for 3wks??0 -
Sorry, but you're wrong. There are many companies that put you on immediate cover but don't take the first payment until some time after. Santander are one such company.Eat vegetables and fear no creditors, rather than eat duck and hide.0

And when you don't make the first payment?0

No doubt when Michelle phones Tesco Insurance this morning she will find out.
I suspect that not signing the credit agreement, does not impact on the policy continuing or payments being collected, but I don't know what processes Tesco Insurance uses. From the companies I have knowledge of, they just file the credit agreements and for those that don't return them, it is noted that no agreement has been returned. The comments I post are personal opinion. Always refer to official information sources before relying on internet forums. If you have a problem with any organisation, enter into their official complaints process at the earliest opportunity, as sometimes complaints have to be started within a certain time frame.0 -

The contract will still be in effect if there is the promise of payment.
You do not need to necessarily sign the agreement for the payments to start either.0 -
OP, check your internet banking and see if a direct debit has been set up.FlameCloud wrote: »
