I ordered a suite from DFS 4 weeks ago, but now i have removed everything from my room i have found that it will be too big, i want to cancel one chair and have been to the store today to be told "its on its way you cant cancel a chair. I was also told that no my suite will not be here earlier(even though its on its way) i have to wait 8 more weeks for it
does anyone know if its possible to cancel one chair from the suite or have done so them selves
thankyou

I'm not sure if you can cancel the chair or not, good customer service would allow you to do so but from reading other threads DFS don't seem too good in that area.
Did they give you a delivery date when you ordered? and have they stuck to it? If not I'd suggest you cancel the lot, tell them they've broken their side of the deal and you're going elsewhere. They may then change their minds about letting you cancel the chair!!
Just a thought, hope it helps.0 -
If the delivery date was clear at the time you ordered, and there are no cancellation terms in your agreement to cover a change of mind, then you do not have a right to cancel.
But if you chose to cancel anyway the store could only charge you a 'reasonable' sum to cover their losses. With so long to delivery time this 'reasonable sum' could not be the full price, or anything like it. Unfortunately the law does not define what is reasonable in such circumstances.
Alternatively of course, you could accept the whole order and then sell a chair privately.0
