Any Advice please

I paid in some cash to my bank account, which I had just withdrawn from a building society account. When I went to my online bank account it had been registered as a withdrawal, so I looked at the receipt from the bank teller and it was for a withdrawal. I returned to the bank and explained that there was a mistake and I had actually paid money in and not taken it out. The manager said the teller had balanced his till but he would look into it. Later he phoned me at home to say it would be sorted today. I am still out of pocket and feel that they think I am lying. I can't prove that I paid the money in as I was given a withdrawal receipt. Any suggestions please.:)

OLB says you made a withdrawal.
Receipt says you made a withdrawal.
Till balances.
Can't really do anything.
Surely if you had made a deposit but registered a withdrawal, there would be £600 too much in the till.
You could raise a complaint and maybe the bank will investigate the CCTV footage, but little else.0 -
You must complain, in writing. To the bank's head office.
Somebody independent of the branch should look at this, including other complaints of a similar nature against the same cashier.
If a trend is forming you will be reimbursed. If not you won't be. Until further complaints come in.
Either way, check what you're signing in future.
which proves you withdrew.I can't prove that I paid the money in as I was given a withdrawal receipt0 -
Get the Building Society to prove the withdrawal - this in itself will, of course, prove nothing. Character references will help support your case to the formal complaints dept of the bank.
Be amount conscious.
In past times the banks could "reconstruct" till dealings but I doubt they can do that as well these days.

Did u sign a withdrawal slip? You shouldn't have if it was a receipt. If it's a withdrawal slip only signed by the cashier it's pretty obvious you paid something in.0

I disagree, my experience is you sign a credit slip as well.0 -
Complain to the bank. Surely the CCTV will show you handing the cash over.
If they won't help, involve the police, who should be able to seize the footage. If you handed over money and it wasn't credited it's theft plain and simple, and the police will have to some form of investigation into it.0
