Its amazing the number of armchair buyers who know the value of a property.

They all seem to conclude its what they can afford, warrants the property value.

The OP needs to look a property they can afford, instead of whinging about stuff they can't.

If you have read this thread. You would find that I can afford, just am not willing (like everyone else in the last 3 years) to pay their price.

Huge different between not being able to afford and not wanting to buy a mars bar for £4.99.

Maybe you have to be realistic and take a good look at yourself in the mirror. If you look like Joe Pasquale and you're trying to find love with super models, then you're in for a loveless life.

Similarly, if you have been looking for the right house at your right price without success then perhaps you do need to try a different strategy, one that has a more realistic view of what people are willing to sell their nice houses for.

If you can't get Kelly Brooke, then perhaps it's time to set your sights on Kelly osborne...

    And 'do her up'....

:rotfl:Yes, as long as you're not deluded enough to think she's worth twice as much because of a bit of make up and hair dye;)

One thing I have noticed with EAs is they send the rabid attack dogs when they sniff a sale. But the guy who puts up the for sale signs, when they dont think it's worth it.
Most EA sign suppliers are independently self employed. So if they have sent the sign guy, your buying strategy is in serious trouble. Either that or you are just making this up as you go along. My wife doesn't take me shopping with her for similar reasons of my unwillingness to just buy something.

Lots of opposite views and a fair share of trolls.

I think I have all the info I now need. There are whose house is their home, while others their ego. I'll avoid the latter.

Why, is that the only reason for overpricing a flat?

We don't really buy flats, just a lease that gives rights to reside in a flat but with obligations.

It's easy for EA's to overprice flats with shorter leases, much easier than houses.

You've been trolling these boards for years cheering on mass misery, recession, unemployment and a house price crash.

Now you find you can't buy a house at the price you want.

I for one think it's absolutely hilarious.

    And couldn't happen to a nicer bloke.:rotfl:

I doubt it's a short lease - it's an ex-mansion which was converted to apartments less than 10 years ago. In fact he'd previously made an offer to another seller in the same block which was turned down - I see there's a flat in that block which is still up for sale at £160k and it could well be the same one.

Wonder if he'll tell his new neighbour how much he paid (before he finds out on nethouseprices :D)

A little bit further info. We looked at sold prices -vs- what was for sale in one area we are looking.

Currently there are 2 houses for sale at 500k, one at 550, two at 600, one at 800 and one at 975k.

Issue being, the highest past recorded sale was for 450k in 2008. Largest zoolpa estimate is 427k for any of them.

An people are trying to tell me they are not overpriced? Or have I found an up and coming area, where no-one wants to buy.
