I purchased a toschiba laptop in July 2011. All i'm getting is a blank screen . When i contacted their technical department they asked me for proof of purchase which i provided. They emailed me today that i'm not cobered since the laptop was sold as an open box condition and therefore second hand. They claim i would only have warranty from from the date of shipping( from Germany to the UK) of 1 month from 08/12/2010. I asked what thats got to do with me and their reply was that was the only warranty i would have. They would accept my pc for repair but at full cost to me . Any help would be appreciated. PC was bought from best buy.

I'm confused. You bought it in July 2011, so what does shipping from Germany to the UK in December 2010 have to do with it?
