Ebay Debt Collector Letter - getting account back?

Comments

  • Yes fully understand i owe the money. I will of course pay because i don't want a CCJ against me and spoil my good credit.

I just think it is bad trading to say give us the money and you can have the account back if they really don't reinstate it. Maybe trading standards or OFT might be interested if they don't reinstate the account.

I will give IQOR a call on Monday.

Did they actually say give us the money and you can have your account back?
It's better to regret something I did do than to regret something that I didn’t. :EasterBun

As stated in the original post

"your ebay account and your feedback score 0492 will remain suspended until this debt is resolved"

As far as Ebay are concerned your account is well overdue, the only certainty is that if you don't pay them they definitely won't let you use your account.

They are within their rights to stop anyone using their site if they want to, it is not the same as banks, utility companies, etc who have Ombudsmen to resort to, there is no right to use Ebay.

I read the sentence differently. It doesn't say you'll get your account back. It says you definitely WONT until you've paid. It's not exactly the same thing.

I am with alfiesmum. The statement in no way suggests you will get your account bank. It categorically says it will stay closed if you don't pay.

If the suspension by ebay was for the non payment of fees, you may be able to appeal your case and get the account reinstated.

If it was for selling an item you couldn't prove was yours/was bonafide, then that may be another matter completely.

You just need to contact the customer services department and tell them, this happened to me and when I rang the account was reinstated within minutes.

Well that is good news. But as we said, it wasn't a foregone. The wording is not as you interpreted. :p
