Gumtree - advice about selling needed please

Options
Hello

I could really do with some advice from MSEr's.

I sell on eBay as a (very small) business seller and have several brand new items that are not profit-friendly for me to list on eBay due to their size and/or weight. They have been sitting on a shelf for over a year for this reason and I need to make some room. I should also mention I am not a fan of collection from Buyers.

Can I sell them on Gumtree locally? I have searched Gumtree's help pages and can't find any rules about not selling brand new items on there.

So my question's are... can I sell brand new items on Gumtree and if so are there a maximum amount per month/year?

Also, I am a bit apprehensive about people coming to my house to collect or wandering around in a public place to meet someone for a sale (I would do that though). Can I state that I would deliver free of charge in my local area?

Any help would be appreciated folks. Thanks.

(P.S. I would still put any Gumtree cash sales through my books before anyone gets upset)

From what I can tell, you can sell anything on gumtree. My partner was looking for a car and (somehow!) came across this :rotfl: (also 'technically' new but last years stock!!)

It's pretty much a free advertising website. Same as some local papers etc. State whatever terms you want, ie. collection/local delivery or whatever. Gumtree is really straightforward to use too so good luck :)

There's also local Facebook selling pages. In our area there are loads & things seem to move pretty fast.
I wouldn't particularly want to meet someone in a public place to collect an item, it's a bit difficult to check something over & make sure it's ok in my opinion.

Hi Hermum. I'm going to take a look at our local Facebook selling pages. Thanks for mentioning that one, it could be perfect for me.

I'm would rather not meet someone in a public place either to make a sale, just though the odd person now and again might not want me to come to them.
