Rats, I'll have to pay this quarter
Better get it calculated and the return submitted then. I've done the forms for the annual accounting scheme though and will send them off later.

Ooooooops, I forgot that I registered for direct debit payment after the last VAT return, so they'll be taking £2,287.51 from my business account on 10th August whether I like it or not. Better get selling!!!
EDIT: Just worked it out - to have everything covered, including the VAT, my drawings and the minimum payment to the horrible Barclaycard, I need to take £81 a day between now and 10th August. I took £195 yesterday, so that's do-able0 -
Your doing great
Very organized0 -
Mr Minx forgot to transfer the shopping money again, but swears he'll do it today - he normally does it straight away, which is why he keeps forgetting because he thinks he's already done it. I shall sent him a strategic reminder email just before his lunch break
£5.44 PADded to the personal overdraft, as last month's interest gets taken out today (£42.44 ) I'm still comping like crazy, trying to win us a holiday, though I didn't enter the one to Panama (even though I'd like to go) as Mr Minx is banned from ever entering the country again thanks to some high jinks when he was in the Navy :rotfl:
The boys were being particularly cute this morning, they were both lying down snoozing in the field when I went out to do my wheelbarrow duty and Merlin was dreaming - you know how dogs and cats twitch when they're asleep? Imagine that with a big golden dun horseFinn stayed lying down when I went up to him, which is a first, and let me comb out his forelock, also a first. The poor chap has been bitten by something on his neck and it's come up in a little lump, so I've slapped some antibacterial gel on it which has a fly repellent in - hopefully he'll be a bit less itchy and it'll go down quickly.
I finally got some stock deliveries yesterday :j:j I had to ring FedEx yesterday afternoon as they sent me a letter asking me to contact them urgently to get my stock cleared. I thought I already had, so rang them to check and they confirmed that the delivery would be with me before 6pm the following day. It turned up about an hour later, more or less at the same time as the postman brought me another large box from a UK supplier and while I still have nearly 200 tool kits stacked up for barcoding before I send them to Amazon's warehouse. Of course, the sensible thing to do would be to finish off the barcoding and get those boxes sealed and sent before unpacking the new stock, but big overseas deliveries is just about my favourite part of the job and I'm afraid I ripped into that pile of boxes armed with a knife, a pen and the gleeful manic grin of a small child hyped up with cheap chocolate on Christmas morning. Favourite bead of this batch is a neon pink skull about the size of my thumbnail.
I'd better crack on anyway, these toolkits aren't going to barcode themselves, sadly! Have a good day everyone0 -
The shopping money has been paid - bless him, he forgot how much and transferred £3.50 more than he owed me, so he's in credit for Saturday's shop
So that's another £25 off the personal overdraft and I logged in to that account this morning to find that NatWest has refunded me £3.23 in interest due to the computer problems which is very nice of them. I wonder if RBS will do the same with the business account? I suppose I won't find out until the next interest payment comes out and they're quarterly for that account.
Much as I'm sick of this rain, I have to admit it's doing my sales good - over £1000 banked from PayPal in the last four days. Just a shame that stock (£181.65 with another cheque for £550.83 sent out last week but not yet paid in by the supplier), eBay fees (£307.65), last month's Royal Mail bill (£680.70) and the accountants (£379.08) all had to be paid this week as well!
The tool kits are all barcoded and boxed up, but I don't think I've got enough space in here to bring in the scales and get them weighed for a quote from my courier. Today's list looks something like this:
[strike]Pack and post orders[/strike]
[strike]List beads which already have listings set up from China delivery[/strike]
[strike]Photograph the new charms[/strike]
[strike]List the new charms[/strike]
[strike]Photograph the new howlite beads
List the howlite beads
Make up bags of crackle glass mix beads (started this last night - I have 100,000 4mm beads to bag into 500s, 65,000 6mm to bag into 300s and 50,000 8mm to bag into 100s - thank goodness for bead counting boards!)
Photograph and list the mixes[/strike]
[strike]Weigh the Amazon shipment and arrange collection[/strike]
[STRIKE]Ironing pile[/STRIKE]
I think that's more like today, tomorrow and part of next week, but I'll see how I go0 -
Forgot to add, yesterday was another NSD, that's 7/31 now. Tuesday wasn't; I spent my usual £1.40 on Closer magazine.0

Hello, Cazmanian_Minx (I'm intrigued about the Minx bit ... care to elaborate?:D). I love your focus, and that you made such a massive change to your life, which seems to be paying off. It's very inspiring reading. Keep at it!"Green pastures are before me,
Which yet I have not seen;"
I'd love to be a good example - instead, I am a horrible warning.0 -

Well I could tell you that I was a massive fan of the Beano when I was a kid and it would be the truth, but that's not actually where the Minx bit comes fromIt was a nickname given to me by my first husband when I surprised him by being a bit more forward than he was expecting a privately-educated middle class young lady to be :A Second husband knows its origins and despite that will affectionately refer to me as La Minx occasionally since he thinks it suits me. (The cazmanian bit, if you're interested, is from when I was about 19 and playing table tennis with a 10 year old - he decided that my long brown hair made me look like the Tazmanian Devil cartoon, so because my name is Caroline he decided I was the Cazmanian Devil. Put the two together and you have a nickname that no-one else uses online - which I've since learnt can be both a good and a bad thing!)
Intelligent Finance phoned to confirm that I won't be charged any interest or penalties because of the problem moving with the direct debit and they'll be checking my credit file for me next month to make sure no late payment has been recorded. I'll be getting paper copies ordered in September, just to double check....0 -
Morning all - it's Friday, so it's time for the scores on the doors update:
(last week/this week/ + or - amount)
Business
Overdraft: -£2790.01 /-£2185.67 +£604.34
Barclaycard: -£8999.00 / £8999.00 no change
Business total: -£11,789.01 / -£11,184.67 +£604.34
Personal
Overdraft: -£3330.00 / -£3335.00 -£5.00
Tesco card: -£1744.70 / -£1785.00 -£40.30
Egg card: -£3437.30 / -£3470.00 -£32.70
Dental loan: -£1250.00 / -£1250.00 no change
Post Office card: -£790.00 / -£790.00 no change
Personal total: -£10,552.00 / -£10,630 -£78.00
Grand total: -£22,341.01 / -£21,814.67 +£526.34
Back in the 21s again and I'm hoping that next Friday might just push me into the 20s - the Tooth Fairy loan payment goes out, which is £250 straight off, so as long as cash in exceeds cash out in the business by £564.68 or more, I should do it. However, the interest on the Horrible-Rate-Barclaycard is due next week and that'll add £143 if the estimate on the June statement is correct.
Another NSD yesterday for 8/31. Back to working my way through yesterday's list and glowering at the weather

I think the laptop is really knackered - can't even get it to boot up properly now
I think I may have an old copy of Windows 98 somewhere, so maybe I can format it and start again, if I can find someone with an external CD drive I can borrow...
