  • I've got to sit down and have a good think about what I do with the business next year. I'm now down to needing £2,300 by 2nd January to meet all bills and pay myself - if it wasn't December I'd say 'no problems', but after Friday my sales are going to shrink to almost zero until the new year.

    SO. The supplier payment of £1458.82 due on 23rd is going to have to go on the card and then I'll pay it off ASAP in January. BUT. that means my charm bracelet and chain order will be delayed and I may run out which means less cash coming in. I think I'm going to have to tackle the odds and ends boxes again and get as much of it listed on 99p Buy It Now as possible.
  • Your photos are great! :T :j

    It's a shame you will have to put a payment on the card. Knowing you it will be cleared before the statement is produced so there may be no interest charge for it. :)

    I assume you're hoping to grow the business next year. You've done extremely well this year. You should be, and probably are, proud of all your hard work. :T :D

  • Aw, thanks Bonnington :) I've actually felt like I've not done that well this year - two years ago my turnover was £105k, this year I'll struggle to reach £80k and that's almost entirely down to lack of working capital. Still, I know what went wrong, which means I can fix it :)

    The Barclaycard statement finally generated this morning - it seems to be getting later and later. Despite the fact that there was a balance at 20.9% right up until the 2nd December, they've only charged interest on the 6.9% balance transfer which seems a bit weird but I'm not complaining :D I did wonder whether to leave making a payment to it until after I'd put the supplier payment on it, as it's not due until 11th January, but decided that it would be good to get on with reducing the personal balance on it, so paid off the minimum plus a rounding amount.
  • Morning all. Another £2.40 paid off the credit card formerly known as Egg.

    Only 10 small orders to go today, I think that's Christmas officially over for the bead shop. Time to get this place tidied up and make a plan of attack for the new year.
  • Good thing I checked the supplier opening hours for the payment that's due on 23rd (which is a Sunday anyway) - I was going to pay it tomorrow afternoon, hoping it wouldn't hit the card until Monday, but they're shut! So I've rung them and there's now £1458.82 heading towards the Barclaycard at 20.9% :mad:

    I'm still £517 short of being able to pay myself in full as well, although there might be a little bit of money sitting in the business Amazon account as I had quite a few sales on it this morning....*goes to look*...£53.17 and I have about £30 in the PayPal account as well. Technically that's only £434 short of being able to pay myself in full then :D

    I'm feeling a bit more optimistic this morning. I think I know what I need to do to pick sales back up, it's going to be quite a bit of work, but if I want to carry on having this nice lifestyle where I throw a few beads into jiffy bags every day and spend the rest of the time doing whatever I like (mainly playing Chefville on Facebook at the moment :o) then it needs doing. Watch this space :)
  • It's the last scores on the doors for this year as I'll be at my Mum's in Gloucestershire next Friday :)

    Grand total: -£11,804.74 / -£12,392.34 -£587.60

    I'm yo-yo-ing again! Bit of a nightmare situation brewing with the business account actually :( I've just had the bill for the last quarter's interest which is going to be taken out on the 28th December (£43.96) and the last quarter's internet bill, which I thought wasn't due until the middle of January, looks like it's going to be taken out the day after the £887 to Royal Mail, on about the 3rd, so that's another £100.80 :( I think I'm going to be paying myself £750 next month instead of £1500 at this rate.
  • O.M.G. Checked on my eBay account this morning to see if anyone needed anything posting out today (they do) and found that a customer had spent ONE THOUSAND FOUR HUNDRED AND NINETY TWO POUNDS overnight :eek::eek::eek::eek: If she pays, and looking at her feedback I don't see any reason why she won't, she has done me the most massive favour ever.
  • Wow!!!!!!!!! :eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:
    I can't believe that spend on ebay. That's fantastic! :T :j

    A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort
