  • Mr Minx has been away for three nights, he's home tomorrow, and tonight at 8pm was the first chance I got to watch a bit of something recorded on the Sky box (which is down to 6% available space!!). It's a measure of how consistently busy I've been recently that I'm watching the final of The Great British Bake Off...

Anyway, would you look at that sig?? £101,419.49 in the offset accounts!! It's a lovely, lovely feeling and just having it in there for 10 days has knocked £62 off October's mortgage interest bill. Still no news about what date it's going to be leaving that account. Okay, I'm paying more interest on it than it's saving on the mortgage, but it's saving me 1.6% tax free, which is not to be sniffed at.

Mr RPC has been mercifully quiet for the past couple of days, I've had less than hour for him each day, which has allowed me to get caught up with some other clients on top of the early morning agency shift. This week, on top of that shift and Mr RPC's work, I've done four celebrity interviews for Journalist #1 (two of them with the same person, to be fair) totalling just over two hours, 44 minutes for NEL and a 70-minute business team file. All of which means that on 5th of the month, my November invoices already stand at £279 :D

Interesting thought about the interest on your mortgage being so much less. Well done on the continuing improvement in your finances.
Busy is not the word! I thought you'd given up the early ams?

They're going to get drastically worse for a bit when I finally buy these crofts ;) I'm enjoying the calm before the financial storm! I gave them three weeks' notice on finishing the early shifts, so my last one is Friday 13th November. To be honest, I wish I didn't have to do another week, because I feel like an absolute zombie at the moment, but I shall keep telling myself it's only five more early starts. I've been sensible for once and turned down all requests for me to work this weekend - I'm going to have two long lie-ins, get all the veggies dug up and stored/frozen and catch up on the ironing pile and the Sky box :D

    Well, I suppose 7am is a lie-in when you're used to 5.30! Wish I'd managed a bit longer though!

Oh dear Caz. Hope you get a proper lie in soon!
How's your mil? Is she any less confused?

  • She's less confused but her short-term memory is pretty much shot now, which is making things tricky :( For example, last night she was saying to Mr Minx that she was thinking she might go round Tesco with the friends who used to take her today, so he rang her this morning to see whether she was going or whether she wanted us to get her shopping. "No, of course I'm not going, why did you think I'd be going?" But physically she's improving all the time and hopefully she'll get the cast off her arm on Thursday, which will cheer her up :)

Good news on the Tesco front though, this current lot of vouchers takes us up to the 78,000 Avios needed for two off-peak flights to Mauritius :D:D:D:D:D Once they convert, we'll be booking our flights for next September and a quick browse round Trivago has found our honeymoon hotel available for £117 a night (booking direct with the hotel is £161.35 a night, that's with 15% off!), so we should be able to go for double the time we went on honeymoon for about 2/3rds the cost :D
  • Sounds great re the Tesco points, how long has that taken you to collect?
