Better weather today and a file from the agency as well :D Did that for them, two files for NEL and three for Mr RPC as well as sending out 15 orders. Also got three loads of laundry done, which are currently getting rained on outside. Ah well, it's supposed to dry out later and be dry all day tomorrow, so hopefully I'll be able to get the clothes inside before the birds use them for target practice.

I was supposed to be helping a friend redecorate her buy-to-let flat this evening, as her tenant moved out at the weekend, but she's hurt her knee so we're postponing.

Flying in, as a 72-minute file has just landed from the agency with a return time of 4pm, which means I've only got the 25 minutes it's going to take to download to sort the eBay orders, but I just wanted to say:

A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort

49 minute file for the agency, another of NEL's files and lots of work for Mr RPC who, by the time I got back from walking the dog and doing the horses, had sent me two text messages, an email, a Skype message and left me a message on the office answerphone, all asking if I was available to work this morning!

Mr Minx and I have been having a couple of State of the Nation discussions over the past two nights. Last night's was about the possibility of moving house (we're not so wedded to the idea of this being our forever home as we used to be), tonight's was about work and debt. Basically, by the end of this year we'll both be free of credit card debt, we'll just have the mortgage and Mr Minx's car loan. Mr Minx says that this means I don't have to work any more if I don't want to, however he and I both know that I'd go absolutely stir-crazy if I didn't.

We agreed that we need to start building up assets to see us through what will hopefully be a long and happy retirement and Mr Minx floated the option of me going to work at his place of work - he says they could find me a job on around £20k to start with easily and mentioned that several of our neighbours who started in admin positions are now on £50-60k in management roles. While I can't deny that that sort of money is incredibly tempting, I'm really hesitant to do it - lots of reasons, but (1) can't leave the dog home alone all day, (2) working full-time in winter is not compatible with having horses at home, especially when you have no electricity on your yard area, (3) I'm not sure I could cope with having people around me all day, (4) I've completely lost my confidence in my ability to do anything other than basic secretarial/retail stuff.

I need to figure out how to make £20k a year or more from home and get the best of both worlds.

Well I didn't expect to read this today. So maybe the other day's thoughts we're just hormones? What's lessened the forever home feelings? I think you would be fabulous in anything you set your mind to. The problem, or hard part, is deciding to and following through I guess. Especially if it takes you outside your comfort zone. I suffer from #3 daily. # 1 and # 2 could be sorted somehow, something would come up and #4, well that just takes time. Having said that, it depends what you actually decide that you want to do.

Anyway - tis Friday :) You know what that means x
