    More great figures Caz! :j

I'm blown away each week with how well you're doing.

    Have a great week-end. :D

  • OK, what's going on? The-Barclaycard-Formerly-Known-As-Egg (and I checked, it definitely is this one this time!) has sent me a letter with a 0% balance transfer offer, valid for the whole of September. I wonder if I can either use this as a bargaining chip to get a 0% offer from the Post Office or, worse case scenario, transfer the balance onto the PO card and then back again? Assuming a 2.9% fee out and back I'd still save money. If the PO card agreed to a BT offer, I could then transfer the remains of the Tesco card onto T-B-F-K-A-E. That would leave me (on the personal front) with £5467 plus BT fees at 0%, £1471.47 at 6.9% and the overdraft of £2980 at 19.9% which would be a significant improvement on the current situation.
  • I've been dreading September because it's a five Saturday month which means the shopping budget is going to be extremely tight. I've got an extra £55 in it, left over from surpluses in the past couple of months, but we managed to spend £106 in Tesco today  which wasn't a great start, though in fairness £41 of that was on a Blu-ray and two bottles of whisky for Mr Minx and he's paid me back in full for those rather than the normal 50:50 shopping bill split.

The house is full of good smells at the moment. Tesco was out of softies (for those of you who don't live in Scotland, this is a very soft, slightly salty bread roll with a very thin crust made by brushing cream over them before you bake, not to be confused with morning rolls which are even softer but have flour on the top), so I'm having a bash at making some and the dough is proving on the hearth next to the woodburner. Mr Minx is making one of his famous chillis in the kitchen, so the living room smells of yeast, onions and spices :)
  • Ohh can I come eat at your place? Sounds yummy!
  • I hope the bread making went well. ;)

Mixed results - the taste was spot on, but I didn't get enough air into it while I was kneading, so they didn't rise as much as they should have. Going to try again tomorrow and this time use the bread machine to make the dough :)

Never mind that - I've got a hankering for a well fired Scotch roll with square sausage :D.
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort
    :) Mortgage Balance = £0 :)

  • Note to self: read the blooming recipe, I only put half the yeast in :rotfl::rotfl: I'll have another go later :)

Despite every weather forecast telling me it would be a dry day for KW14 7??, I had to do the horses wearing oilskins this morning and then got soaked going for a run in the rain. So I gave up all hope of having a dry pony to ride and threw my jodhpurs in the wash. You guessed it; glorious sunshine now! Still, it'll make me get on with the business accounts for the week :)

The Post Office card statement has generated and there was £9.61 to pay in residual interest, so that's today's PAD.
  • Supper last night was amazing - Mr Minx took some of our home-reared pork out of the freezer, smothered it in Reggae Reggae sauce and then left it in the oven on a very low heat for about five hours until it just fell apart. We had it with freshly baked bread rolls (with the correct amount of yeast in this time!) which soaked up all the juices and it was FAB.

I made a typo in the PAD thread this morning and rechristened my NatWest debt the overdrat. Kind of sums up how I feel about it really!

Amazon disbursement day tomorrow, currently £960 in there :j:j:j:j Fingers crossed they can dispatch £40-worth or more of orders for me today!
  • Morning hope all is well :)
