Oh, doesn't Jura look so comfy in her sunny bed. Lucky girl.
I also like that satellite photo of your area. Very freaky.
Glad you had a good day.0 -
Sounds great. Love the sat photo and also the one of a very contented dog!:)MFiT-T4 Member No. 96 - 2022 is my MF goal

Hellooooooooooooooooooo Friday :j:j Technically I'm working today, but if I don't get assigned a file in the next half hour, I'm free to go and help Mr Minx put the raised beds together
So while I await my fate, here are some scores on the doors.

Alex - what do you want to know? Probably the best guide to doing it is this one: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Make-Serious-Money-Amazon-Beyond/dp/1857886089/ref=sr_1_cc_1?s=aps&ie=UTF8&qid=1397813628&sr=1-1-catcorr&keywords=dan+wilson+ebay - Dan used to work for eBay and now helps run the Tamebay blog, what he doesn't know about online selling through platforms probably isn't worth knowing.
I have a possible extra money-earning opportunity. Yesterday afternoon I got home to find that the transcription company I work for had sent out an email asking if anyone wanted to train up to join the proofreading team. Now, if their proofreading system works the way I think it does (i.e. less time in headphones because they just spot-check with the audio rather than listening to the whole thing through), it would be very, very easy for me to do a transcription shift during the day while Mr Minx is at work and then a proofreading shift in the evening on the sofa. So I've expressed an interest and am waiting to see if they take me forward to the next stage or not. Fingers crossed
Since there appears to be a four day free listing Easter weekend on eBay and it covers Buy It Now listings as well as auctions, I'm going to get that box of perfumes listed this weekend. Some of them we have two or three of, so it's going to be one for eBay, one for the local Facebook selling group and, for any that have three, one for the charity shop. That'll make me feel a bit better about selling the rest, anyway.0 -
I got a file, but only 35 minutes and I've already done it (part of a focus group, a bunch of children being asked their opinions of different trailers for a forthcoming summer blockbuster - had me laughing out loud in places!).
Lunch and then off to fill up my four new raised bed frames with horse manure

Hooray - one overnight Inverness to London bus ticket on the sleeper service snagged for £45
I just need to wait for them to release the return leg date now.
I've brought up 10 barrow loads of rotted manure today and the first of the four beds is only two thirds full - this is going to take longer than I thought...0 -

I'm not actually sure what I need to know.
I am an experienced eBayer but thought it may help my business to do some "specials" online - this is furniture that cannot be posted and does not come cheap meaning I'm unsure whether it would work. I also had a bit of an idea of starting a hobby eBay shop but no idea what to sell. 2018 totals:

Hmmmm, for your furniture which, if I remember correctly, is handmade bespoke stuff, I would look more in the direction of Etsy, Folksy and Not On the High Street - but you may run into problems if you can't arrange shipment, I'm not sure what their policies are regarding this. As for a hobby eBay shop - my advice would be to pick something that fits into Royal Mail's Large Letter size, that way all you need to do is keep stocked up with stamps and jiffy bags and you can simply drop your orders into a post box as and when, no need to queue up at the post office!0 -
Well, today I put my big girl trousers on and did something I'd been considering for a while. I decided that I can't really justify hanging on to a professional instrument when I play it so rarely and listed my flute for sale on eBay. OK, I've been ambitious with the asking price (£4000 for a 20-year-old instrument that currently retails new for £6295), but it's got quite a rare keywork modification that means if there happens to be someone out there looking for one (and that's a fairly big 'if', to be fair), it should sell. And if it doesn't, I can justify keeping it by telling myself that no-one wanted it when I tried to sell it
:D
I also got the perfumes listed and went through all my books, CDs and DVDs - I've got £53-worth to send off to the webuybooks website next week.
eBay sales are currently dire, but actually not too dissimilar to Christmas week, so I'm hoping for a big pick up next week. I've put all my listings on to free P&P for a couple of days, just to see if it gives me a visibility boost. I'm not advertising it anywhere though, this is a sort of silent test.0 -

Thank you for the advice. Yes the furniture is handmade and certainly not of the "cheap" variety, I also dabble in antique pieces. Shipping is a bit of a nightmare and is one of the reasons I sell to shops who have lorries and vans. However, there have been occasions when I've sold one off pieces locally which have all too often ended up behind my Land Rover strapped to a car trailer. Not really the way to create a "professional" image and there is no way on this earth that I'd be delivering to the South Coast, no matter how much son likes playing "trucks". I know there is Shiply which will carry this kind of thing but I cannot say I really trust your general "man with a van" with items worth quite a lot of money.
Anyhow, I'll have a look on the websites you recommended and perhaps have a think if I know anything about something which will be OK to be posted through Royal Mail. Hmmm, pens come to mind ... :rotfl:cazmanian_minx wrote: »Well, today I put my big girl trousers on and did something I'd been considering for a while. Good luck with the flute, though I think you'll probably be secretly pleased if it doesn't sell... then you'll have an excuse to PRACTISE.
