We would have paid about £14k in rent during the same period..
This is a very healthy and sensible attitude. It was exactly how I thought when recently accepting a low offer on my house. At first it seemed as if I'd taken quite a hit when I added the cost of what I paid for the house to the approx £30k I'd spent on refurbishment etc over the 4.5 yrs I've been here.
But when I worked out what I'd have to have paid in rent for a property of this size over the same period, I realised it didn't actually amount to a loss on the house at all.
If you genuinely are unhappy in your home and can afford to take on board any loss, then move. Who knows how long we are on this earth for and we need to do things we believe will improve or enhance our lives when we have the opportunity. The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.
I should mention that there's only one of me, don't confuse me with others of the same name.0 -
I was just thinking what a coincidence 2 people started very similar threads in short order.
I wonder why you started another one?0 -
How long have you actually lived there?
So far, you haven't actually stated one reason why you don't like it, other than no having that "oh wow" feeling??
You even said you both bought in the location you wanted, and "Location location location" is everything...
I think you should take a chill pill, stop worrying about what everyone else things, and ENJOY it!
(ps - I'm quite sure most people don't get the "oh wow" feeling until maybe years later!)Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0 -
