Came across this today. You have to register and provide proof of charity and book in advance.
Go to the virgin site, think you will find it under the services / business tab.

Been in contact with anumber of friends in the area. None of them aware of this-despite regular travel to London using Virgin trains0

Sorry, perhaps being dense but cannot find either a services / business tab or any other tab which sends me to a link about reduced fares for charities! Please, can you post a link or revisit the page and tell us where to go hunting? Would be most grateful ...Signature removed for peace of mind0

Apologies, it was not on the virgin site (odd), on national train enquiries site.

To help Charities devote the maximum possible funding to their Charities Work rather than to administration costs Virgin have set up a Charity Line and are offering an easement to their Saver ticket restrictions on Virgin Trains to registered charities.
The new Virgin Trains Charity Line service will be a booking service available to all UK registered Charities.
Registered users will be free of all travel restrictions on Virgin Trains services.
The Charity line will provide a full travel account and supporting documentation.
Charities will have to register to use this service, they can do this by calling 0845 30 50 350 or by completing a registration form.
There will be an annual fee of £15 for this service.
When registering Charities can give details of travel preferences, authorized bookers and payment methods and these will be held on file to speed up the booking process.
Tickets booked through Charity Line will have a special stamp on them, and customers may be asked for ID to prove they work for the Charity that booked the ticket.
As well as booking unrestricted Saver tickets the line can also book normal tickets for Charities ONLY

It's always so good to realise it's not me being dense! Thank you VERY much for that! Will probably register at work, I think we do enough train travel to justify the £15.Signature removed for peace of mind0
