Thanks
How do I partition like that? Will it ask me when I do the install?
If you do decide to do a reinstall, there should be an option to set up partitions.
However I'm really not the best person to advise on this so I will leave that to others with more knowledge and experience.
Frankly, if your computer is running fine and you now have plenty of space, I would leave it alone.
My Win7 install is well over a year old and I have never felt the need to do a reinstall.0 -

I have 260GB of photographs and 3 HDDs and am on the point of getting another.
I have about 600gb of mostly irreplacable music videos plus a lot of photos etc.
I have 3 x 1tb external disks storing full copies of all my videos plus various smaller disks for my other data.
I keep one full backup off site at a friend's house just in case of fire, burglary etc.0 -

Great username!
I do have other hard drives and have backed up photos on it.
We seem to be very para now ,3HDDs +1, yet when I was a kid it cost a fortune to get an extra copy of your camera film (film: old fashioned memory card???).
You can also cloud them, but 260gb!0 -
it may seem trivial under the circumstances, but your Windows folder is way too big at 34GB....run the inbuilt windows disk cleaner and also old restore points....probably reduce this by 10-12GB-ish....follow this guide:-

I have a dodgy "i" key, so ignore spelling errors due to "i" issues, ...I blame Apple0 -

Thanks Gunjack but it didn't remove a kb!0 -
Have you got a folder called windows.old0
-
No the OP does not have windows.old (see his previous screenie about his drives).
I have a similar layout to one the previous posters, dedicating C:\ to just windows and applications. All your personal data goes onto other partitions.
obviously as in line with other posters advice - regularly back them up onto your physically separate external hard drive.
To partition your drives use this free but limited partition tool - I speak only for myself that it has worked for me many times:

Your Windows folder: 34.2GB | 111,963 items | 90,943 files | 21,020 Subdirs
My Windows folder: 14.0GB | 67,011 items | 56,278 files | 10,733 Subdirs
I'm running 32 bit version v your 64 bit, but I wouldn't expect it to make that much difference. I'm sure someone else running 64 bit will post their stats for comparison. How do I add a signature?0
