Rude Seller

To cut a long story short, I purchased an item of ebay which I never received, I informed the seller who said I have to wait until 15 working days so that they can make a claim and another 30 days once they have received a refund from the Royal Mail.

I informed them that if I waited that long I wouldn't be able to raise a claim with ebay if anything went wrong.

They are now being rude and saying they live nearby and quote: "i will deliver your refund 2 you by hand as your so close !!!!!!"

Which I replied "it's ok I'm happy to wait for ebay/paypal".

Which they replied "and i am more than happy 2 deliver your pennies !!"

I only wanted my item, I only paid £1.04 for the item and £4.49 postage which I think they were not happy with.

Is there anything ebay can do to stop this harressment?

Thanks, Helen

I'd now ignore their messages seeing as they are giving you so much attitude & just raise an INR.

I agree, go straight to dispute. Seems odd that the amount of time you have to wait is exactly the time that is allowed to raise a dispute. It's not your problem anyway, it's hers.

Perhaps she never sent it in the first place as she seems unhappy with the price?

Thanks for your replies, that's what I thought.

I raised a claim as soon as they told me to wait, I think that's why they are being nasty.

Now that you've opened a dispute if they should bring your pennies around, you'll get 2 refunds.
You could then tell them that you'll refund one after 45 days.

It's a coincidence - those are the guidline lengths of time RM give for waiting for an item to be consisdered missing, and recieving a response once you;ve filed a claim.

Although technically, 15 working days is actually 3 whole weeks, so the time in total is actually longer than the dispute deadline.

I think I'd be leaving a neg too once I'd received a refund, as I really can't stand rude people, nor those that treat me like I'm stupid!

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)

I have to admit though, this seller sounds a bit like I was before I came on this forum.

I didn't really understand my responsibilities as a seller, and assumed that if the buyer didn't pick a guaranteed form of delivery that it was their fault.

Luckilly when I did have a INR issue to deal with I came on here for advice, and was put right before I could antagonize my buyer.

Thanks again for your replies, I'm quite scared if they do come round just by their comments, what will they be like.

I have asked them to stop being rude as I only wanted my item.

I will wait and see what they say and if they continue to be rude I will say I will accept both refunds and refund them again in 45 days as you have said!

I will keep you all posted.

I'd reply, OK that will be lovely thank you, but please make sure that you close the gate when you come, as my two rottweilers have a habit of running off if it's left open.

I agree his attitude is a bit off. But he's right, he can't file a missing parcel report via Royal Mail before 15 working days have passed. This is the Royal Mail's failing and not his! However, you should file a dispute case in the meantime to cover yourself. Good luck
