Electricity Consumption 12,000 per year

I agree. The alternative is that they are malicious, using the data to cook up a consumption figure which aligns with the meter readings and avoids rocking the boat and having to get to the bottom of the issue.I don't believe that and if I am right the E.ON specialist? adviser is incompetent.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. OK, thanks for all the help. Following purchase of an energy monitor ( best £33 ever spent) update and some note for others as follows:
The main culprit was an electric heater in the conservatory which was at the lowest setting and has a thermostat but was still using about 1KW per hour and was on continuously.
Three 500 watt external lights are on pirs but with cats moving around were probably going on and off quite a few times during the night and would a lot worse in the winter! Switched 2 off and left one for security.
Most lamps in the house were 100 watt including three corner uplighters in the lounge which are on continuously when it is dark. Changed all lights are on a lot to low energy 15W = 85W in old money.
My consumption has now dropped to 7 KW per day and even alowing for an increase in winter should still bring us back to average with 75% annual saving!!
Some intersting points to note:
The EON rep was obviously talking rubbish as I did not even mention the conservatory heater or any of the other above points and she calculated 28 KW!
The computer uses about 200 watts.
The fridge/freezer uses 100 watts when the compressor runs.
The 40" LED TV and Sky HD together only use 50 watts when switched on and on standby virtually nothing!
The kettle uses 2.5KW, toaster 800 watts, washing machine 1KW only when heating the water and the dishwasher the same.
Now with nothing on except the continuous items, TV and SKY on standby, three digital phone chargers, two digital alarm clocks, a pond pump and a cold water drinking bowl for the cat our consumption is 0.09 KW.
Many thanks for all the help and I hope the above gives some guidance to others.

Sounds your going to save a fortune. Your electric consumption totally blew me away. you was using roughly x10 more than me in my 3 bedroom house. I got a electric monitor last year and it was really eye opening. Even the door bell uses 5w continuos. However it is very easy to let it dictate your life if your not careful. I go around turning thing off and the wife turns them back on again.0
