Cleaning floor tiles

Not exactly DIY but don't know where to post.
I have floor tiles in my living room. (Red ones). I only cleaned them yesterday but again, once they had dried properly, they don't look any better!
They look sort of greasy and every sock print stands out.
Is there any sort of polish I could put on them to make them shrug off marks a bit?

They sound like quarry tiles to me (are they 15 or 20cm square?). In which case standard floor cleaners such as Flash are not much good. I would go to your local independent tile shop and get something a bit more specialist. There are plenty of products out there which will clean quarries without leaving them all smeary while pretty much anything you buy from a supermarket will leave a residue. Something like Fila Cleaner or the Lithofin or HG equivalents do cost quite alot more than a bottle of Flash but they actually work.....whilst supermarket cleaners dont on quarries or terracotta, or even unglazed porcelain.0

Probably a good idea to seal them have a look at lithofin products:-

If it is a heavy use area you might need to do it fairly often (but on a smallish area takes minutes) and is worth doing just before going to bed.0
