Unrecieved item- paid via PayPal

Hi
I wonder if someone can help.
I purchased a DVD and paid via PayPal on the 4th march. I was assured it had been posted.
I had not recieved it by the beginning of may, but this w closed by PayPal due to it being past the 45 days. I have tried to contact the company but heard nothing. I had one reply stating the DVD had been sent, however it is now the end of June and I have still not recieved it.

I contacted PayPal but because of time passed they can not help. Any suggestions?

Thank you

You have to escalate the case on paypal before it closes to get a refund.

I guess you could do a charge back? I'm not really sure how they work though.

Unfortunately you may have lost your money. You could try a bank chargeback if the source of funding was a credit card, but unfortunately by being patient you have lost out.

Generally speaking, next time, keep note of what you buy and after two weeks contact the seller. I've had items turn up within three weeks, and I'd only raise a dispute if the seller was not communicating satisfactorily, but there is a fixed cut-off date for claims, so never leave something two months.

In my experience, things can be up to three weeks late if coming from the UK (that generally requires snow though) and take a month to come from the US. That still gives you plenty of time to give the seller the benefit of the doubt, be seen to be being patient, but at the same time, start the claim (which is only available as an option for six weeks).

Don't ever leave something more than a month.

I hope this wasn't expensive and you haven't lost too much money.

You could try phoning the company & see if they'll do the decent thing & either refund you or resend it.
Unfortunately after 45 days you can't claim through Paypal.
