Ok so we have, due to various reasons, three youngest children (7,6,6 months)we would like to have christened.Eldest DS was christened at 6 months, had a lovely service and celebration afterwards with three godparents, one of whom we never see now
. We are struggling for god parents for the others as there are three of them.We have 3 people...2 x best friends and brother we deffo want.Would choosing one set of trusted, loved friends/family for all three be acceptable do you think?
Slightly mad mummy to four kidlets aged 4 months,6,7 and 8

I do not see why not. no rule about choosing different godparents for each child that I know of. in fact choosing the same ones for the children sounds sensible.0

Perfectly acceptable.
You can have as many godparents as you like, male or female. The tradition is 2 of one and 1 of the other but you don't have to stick to it.
My kids both have the same godfather, although they have different godmothers. The vicar told me to choose as many godparents as I wanted, so long as they had a real interest in my kids and, preferably, were at least christened themselves - the same church being a bonus but not a prerequisite.0 -
Godparents are vastly overrated. Pick someone who will be around for ever in the kids lives.
If it so happens that you need more than one child christened at the same time, then of course it is right you pick the same ones for the job. They are the best ones at this time.
nb I've no christened children and they have no GP'sFreedom is not worth having if it does not include the freedom to make mistakes.0 -
My children have 3 godparents. Two of which haven't seen them in 8 years.

My Christian answer and the one I'll use for my own kids:
It doesn't matter, it's the best people for the job.
The tongue in cheek voice in my head:
You'll be restricting their present opportunities ;-)0
