Is there anything I can do?

Hi my pc broke a few weeks ago so untill I could afford a new laptop I got a cheapish(£70) tower off eBay from a business seller, which broke this morning it won't turn on at all and it isn't a virus as I did a full scan yesterday.
I have messaged the seller this afternoon but when I checked on eBay if it would let me open a case it was 45 days yesterday. If the seller won't help me is there anything I can do?

I think you can open a case in PayPal up to 60 days after.
I have had many Light Bulb Moments. The trouble is someone keeps turning the bulb off :o

It's 45 days for both ebay & Paypal.

With a business seller you have additional rights - fit for purpose and all that - so consult Consumer Direct if seller won't play ball.

For secondhand items the usual definition of 'fit for purpose' is adjusted to fit the expected lifetime of the item, but you do have additional rights - just not through eBay.

If it won't turn on at all have you tested the fuse in the plug? Or if you can't test the fuse replace it.
  • If it's been over 45 days you can't open a case no. How about opening a case on PayPal?
