Strapless Bras Help

  • I tried on a few strapless bras in Debenhams and thought they were a disaster! I went to an independent lingerie shop and was fitted, and it turned out I had to go down a back size and up a cup size.

Ending up buying a bra from the Fauve range. I was worried about them seeming quite structured and padded, thinking it would make me look bigger, but the fitting lady advised they really need the extra structure and fabric for support, and it didn't make me look bigger at all.
From Starrystarrynight to Starrystarrynight1 and now I'm back...don't have a clue how!

Sadly iv given up on finding a strapless bra for a 30G, and instead use clear straps.

Me too, 34ff and have had a couple of expensive strapless bras professionally fitted, I'm afraid I've given up too and just buy clothes that accomodate my normal bras.

Going down a band size is fine if you're slim, but can give horrible bra strap bulge :o

But if your fat all over, do you think the first thing people will notice is the bulge on your back?

    I never get that logic!!

It has some merit. With care, you can be fat all over and still look elegant but not if your underwear looks like it is cutting you in half.

How rude! You don't have to be fat all over to have bra strap bulge.

    to you!

Sorry, probably a bit harsh but as an ex bra fitter i've been dying to say it for years :p

I've had women who were size 20+ concerned about the rolls the bra made? HELLLO! I know its not nice, but saggy boobs aren't either.

I just don't understand why there is such a lack of knowledge with women and bras. Its one of the most important items of any woman's wardrobe, yet its so overlooked/misunderstood.

maybe though they were more concerned about the rolls of fat the bra made rather than their other rolls of fat ? i am glad you have never fitted me for a bra i really dont think it wouldve been an enjoyable experience

Obviously when i fitted people i didn't mention anything about my own personal opinion. I've fitted ladies who have had breasts removed, who are going through cancer to ladies with severe learning disabilities. My opinion remained opinion in my head and was never voiced.

It was always just one of those things i found amusing... i have a roll of fat on my stomach and fat thighs. I think people are going to notice that first than a bit of fat roll on my back....when i'm facing them. Thats all.
