    I would definitely chase up the surveyor. We got a settlement from ours because he missed the fact that the drive had been raised above the DPC.

    We know better now and would notice this for ourselves!

    Doesn't seem to be looking expensive at the moment. Most of the work
    Can be done ourselves. However, we will be inspecting further to make sure we know what the problem is. At the moment it just seems to be the effect of no venilation, everything points to that so far.

    Fingers crossed anyway! Ill certainly consider contacting the surveyor though, as I'm not sure he might have covered his back wih very general comments.
