Can credit history be changed?
Hi everyone,
I don't know if this is posted in the correct place but here goes:
Without going into all the details, I was the victim of fraud, perpetrated by a lifelong "friend". Even though I have always handled money well, I was plunged into lots of debt and eventually had to get a debt relief order.
The friend was taken to court and found guilty of around 20 counts of fraud and went to jail.
My credit report is now a mess because (1) I had the DRO which has now been served and (2) there were defaults on multiple loans before the order was granted.
I just wondered if there was anything I could get removed or amended on my credit history due to the fact that the guy admitted what he did and all the details are on court record.
I'm sure there isn't anything I can do, but I thought it was worth asking!
Thank you.

Also - when I look at my Equifax credit report online, it says that I had a "Bankruptcy Order". Is this just the way that it lists a debt relief order?0

Any debts he fraudulently incurred should not be on your credit report. Any debts that are genuine for which was defaulted on should be on it.0
