Notary fees in Spain

hi there bit of a long shot but does anyone know how much these are at the moment. I understand from research that the fees are set by the government but am unable to find out the current rate. We have been quoted 900 euros by our spanish lawyer but from what we can gather this should be nearer 4-500 euros. This is for the purchase of an apartment for 100,000 in cash if that makes any difference.

You can get a list of charges from any Notario's office.

do you know how I would be able to this online please as we are in England although my oh is going to spain to complete next week so could find out then but we want to find out before then to ask the lawyer who doesn't seem to be responding to our questions. I have seen that sometimes the buyer can be lumbered with all the Notary fees although why would our lawyer do this as they are representing us and not the vendors.

You could google 'Notarios en Espana' then search for a local one to where you are buying. It will all be in Spanish so if you don't speak it yet use google translate.

Or join our forum and ask any number of knowledgeable ex-pats.
