Barclays credit card refused

Options
Hi all,
I am bit confused on barclays gold reaction to keep refusing credit card.I have applied 1st timefor barclays gold and 3rd time for barclays initial. and their reason is that I do not meet their critical requirement which is not true.
I have good credit score, earning salary £21000,been in current address for 1 year and previous address for more than 3 years.
I had called them after feeling that I am not being treated fairly but the customer service officer could not give valid reason infact he said that I have qualified the initial state.I was advised to write letter to them. Please help me in how to write letter asking for reason for their continuos refusal despite meeting all essential requirement. thank you very much for any reply

They would of done their own credit score on you and Unfortuantly your score was to low for them to accept you.

    Easy solution apply somewhere else.

You have nothing to complain about.

They don't want you as a customer.
They don't have to provide you with any credit or any reasons why either.

You say you have a good credit score?

How do you know you have a good credit score?, if you mean by the scores generated by experian etc, they mean nothing, so i would like to know where your good credit score comes from...

I dont understand what do you mean?If credit scoring generated by credit scoring company mean nothing why credit card companies and bank refering them first.I have good credit track record.I have good credit scoring from 3 credit scoring company. The problem i am having now is that barclays not only not granting me with credit card but conducting multiple search in my credit file even after refusing.During my application 8 months ago I got letter saying that it was a success and requesting my passport copies and proof of address. I got letter stating refusal the next day stating my acceptance. The day between my acceptance and refusal was just one day.
I have interval between my application as they have advised and all decision were not instant.

Credit scoring companies are used by banks to determine your borrowing history and any adverse credit. The banks also have their own internal scoring systems - you failed their internal scoring.

If you don't want multiple searches on your file, then stop applying for something they don't want to give you!

A potential lender looks at your credit file with the credit reference agencies for some information - principally if you have had credit in the past and how well you have managed that credit. They also look for indicators of stability such as being on the electoral roll and at the same property for a long period of time etc. And they look for any financial associates that appear on your file - and check out what their credit reports show.
They also look for evidence of CCJs, bankruptcy etc.

They only seen the main body of your report - not a score that a credit reference agency will sell to you.

Are you aware that there are 3 credit reference agencies? and have you checked your detailed report (not score) with each of them to see what they show?

A potential lender also uses all the other information they find out about you, from your application form, and from the 2 fraud agencies when assessing whether to lend to you.

If they choose to decline you - once or 50 times, then that is their right.

If you are on the electoral roll, have a good credit history, aren't financially associated to someone with bad credit and your debt is less than 50% of your salary you should be ok with most lenders.Only thing that could hinder you is one of your 3 files is wrong or you've applied for to much credit in a sort space of time. Maybe barclays are saving money for all these fine they're going to get :-)
