Used Christmas Cards?

Hi Guys. For many years now, my family have used old Christmas cards to use as tags for presents but as I have changed schools and many friends 'don't send cards' and we have lost some of our family, we no longer get that many cards. I thought it might have been possible to find a job-lot of old, used Christmas cards on ebay but I can't seem to find any. :(
Would you guys happen to know of anywhere where I could get some? I might look in some local charity shops as they sometimes have them nearer Christmas- a bit too early at the moment I guess.
Many thanks :)

I'm not entirely sure it's something people tend to donate to charity shops. I would also imagine June is not the best time to look for them.

The only ones I've ever seen kept are either vintage (1950s Americana) or holiday postcards from Eastern Europe, where the tradition is slightly different. I do as it happens have a job lot of them from when I used to collect EE postcards - I'd always keep the pre-1989/Communist era cards (the USSR had loads of socialist holiday cards, including 'New Year' rather than Christmas, but the surrounding states, Poland, Hungary, Czechoslovakia etc. were less draconian and still produced definitely religious cards) and junk or try to sell the more modern ones.

If you send me a PM I could look some out for you - I'd send them free as a favour to a fellow board member. The motifs are quite cute; the greetings are however in Czech and Polish. They tend to be overtly religious scenes, rather than Santa/robins etc, as Catholicism is quite strong in Poland. There are also some Easter cards as well but I guess you don't need them. I may not have them any more but I have several large boxes of cards that need sorting, so possibly they do still exist.

The only ones I tend to keep are the ones with cute motifs (I have one from my boyfriend from last year and one with a barn owl on it from the year before). I have never been in the habit of cards - I never really see the point unless you are in a position of authority and need to keep the plebs sweet, they are only going to get thrown away. I buy presents for people close to me. I do still get the odd card from people.
