PPI claim against the Halifax

Options
Good afternoon, I have been on numerous sites trying to work out what I should be entitled to for a PPI claim i have against the halifax.

The loan details were £12000 Loan repaid over 36 months with a monthly premium of £384.76 with ppi included.

Halifax have been very difficult to deal with upto this point i wasn't really surprised when they offered me £1067 for full settlement for my claim. I thought this was a very low figure.

If anyone would be so kind to try and estimate what sort of figure i should be receiving for this claim I would be forever grateful.

Best Regards

Dean:D

no-one can tell. We dont have your figures. You do and the Halifax do.

The refund is defined by the FSA and should be refund of premium paid plus interest (a deduction for claims paid and rebate for early repayment or if you are in default/arrears can impact as well)

Any idea of how the payments were split or the original amount of ppi added in the first instance on the credit agreement?

Not sure to be honest, i assume that it was added onto the monthly premiums i was paying. The loan was paid off early as well, not sure if that would make a difference into the amount of refund I should be given. Any ppi calculator i put the figures into says it should be somewhere in the region of £3.5K, as i am novice at these type of things any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Best regards

ppi calculators are a total waste of time because unless they know how much you paid, how much rebate you got for paying early etc they can't tell you a thing, also most of them will be set up by claims companys to try and draw you in to claiming through them

So, adding a multiplier in at the end is quite common. ;)

Commission rebate firms do the same when they tell you how much commission you may get back. They use extreme cases which are rare but give the impression that that is the norm.

as mentioned in post #2, it does make a difference as the redemption figure should include a rebate of PPI as you havent used it for the full term.
