redundancy and income protection insurance?

i will also post this on the insurance board.
My company undertook a small number of redudancies back in March this year. My job remained but i am thinking about taking out a redundancy cover policy incase of future redundancies.
Is there a condition about previously being at risk of redundancy prior to taking out insurance?

    Each company have different policies.

Company I'm with won't accept you if your place of employment has had any redundancies in the previous six months, and there is no point in telling fibs as when it does come time to make a claim they really do dig.
