Too many credit applications

Options
Hi all,

I'm thinking of applying for the BMI credit card to take advantage of the current airmiles offer, and wanted to know if my recent credit applications will go against me hugely.

I changed credit cards on May 4th (cancelled an old one, got a new one with £6.5k limit).

I also applied for a loan in the middle of May which went through the system twice. (One loan was taken out but 2 applications will have been registered for sure).

Is 3 searches in 2 months bad- or am I right thinking it is 6 searches in 6 months..?

At the moment I have £5.2k on loan (I pay £237 a month standard repayment and overpay another £800 per month), and £3k on a 0% credit card. I earn around 30k.

Any ideas if this would go through would be fab!

Thanks

probably best to hold off regardless. even if you did accepted, your limit might be lower and/or higher APR. not worth it if you can just wait a few more months (say christmas time).
    Oh, you wee bazza!

Does anyone know how long this BMI offer is likely to be on for? I've no history with BMI at all.

I have 4 credit searches in 6 months and also utilising 29% of 26k Available credit and have a 5 month old Tesco Loan (£7500).

Yesterday I applied for a Nationwide 20 months 0% Balance transfer card and was accepted with a £2500 credit limit.

    My Salary is £31,000pa

Credit searches are just one part of credit scoring.

bmi have obviosuly been taken over by ba so in some ways it is odd that the are still marketing the card. You wont be able to use miles on bmi flights anymore but should be abel to use them on ba flights, considered a good deal around europe but not much good for long haul.

have you looked at the otehr airline cards, i think there are pros and cosn to each depending on how much you spend and where you wnat to go?
