I've got 3 old settled credit cards that were closed about 5 years ago. I have no paperwork etc is there anyway that I can find out if I paid PPI on any of them as I cannot remember if I did or not

I'd be interested to find out an answer to this too. I had a card which I paid off and cancelled around 10 years ago, not sure if this falls out of the time scale of how far you can claim back. Went to the bank to find out some info and they said that they only hold records for up to 6 years so they couldn't do anything.
I'm not sure if this was just a 'fob off' or not.
Good luck if you manage to get the details and get back anything that's potentially owed to you.0 -

Hi there
You can find out if you did have PPI bby either contacting them direct, were they all with the same or different businesses?
Was any with the bank you use? If so the bank will confirm if you call into the local branch if any PPI.
Or:
You can try requesting for copies of the agreements, by sending a simple letter requesting for a copy of the agreement, enclose £1 postal order or cheque, ask they provide by 12 to 14 days in the post.
(However, please be aware if the accounts are closed they may come back to state they are not obliged to hold or send the details of the actual agreement).
Or:
Request a full Subject Access Request (SAR), there is a letter template below you can use if you want to do this.
They have up to 40 calendar days to comply and send you data of the paperwork on the accounts, you enclose £10 cheque or postal order.
If the credit cards were with the same bank/business, then only one SAR with the one off payment as above is required, as they should provide details of each account you taken out with them.

Do you still have the account numbers? The letters as above you will have to enclose these numbers, or give them as much info as possible, for eg, personal details, all addresses lived in at the time of these accounts, change of name and so on.
If you've any old statements for eg, in the loft packed away somewhere, these should enclose if any insurance.
Hope this info helps, good luck.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
Can I just send each of them a letter asking if I did have PPI? None of them are with my current bank.0
