Holiday in Poland

we did both camps and the saltmines in 1 day.
We used this company
http://www.krakowtours.co.uk/
it's a english man called phil, who lives over there, his knowledge is vast, and he will do whatever you want, stay with you in the camps or leave you to do it alone, on the way to the camps he put a video on in the trailer, so we knew more about it.
Plus on the way back to the hotel he took us the scenic route and told us more about the area.
here are the tripadvisor reviews

we also asked him to do a packed lunch for us.
He also does other trips.

As I am Polish I can give you plenty of advice

I agree that Krakow is a really beautiful city (one of my personal favorites in Europe). Plenty of things to do, to visit, to eat and of course to drink!! You need to try a Polish cuisine and hopefully you will enjoy it.
Also Aushwitz (Oswiecim) is a worth to visit but as the people previously mentioned, it's not a 'happy' experience. It will give you a lot of thinking after. But it's a lesson and I would recommend to take it.
Warsaw - never been and never wanted to go as in my opinion it's a bit overrated and it has no atmosphere like Krakow.
Other cities: Wroclaw, Gdansk (all Batic sea area), Sopot.
Any questions regarding your trip, just send me PM
