paid money to bogus finance management co.

OK it seams like I've been paying £250pm to a bogus financial management company (Platinum Management).
I'm unable to contact them by any means, leading me to believe they've done a runner.
My question now is how do I explain this to my credit card companies who I believed were in discussions with this firm to freeze interest and negotiate a financial plan.
The company had a consumer credit licence (578656) does this mean they were regulated in any way, and if so can I claim my money back.
Really worried now as I'm getting bailiffs letters but had been told by the company to ignore them as they were negotiating on my behalf!!!
Please Help me:eek:

What a terrible situation
Companies who take advantage of people in trouble make me sick! Unfortunately too many people don't realise that there is no need to pay fees to private companies when debt charities will do it for free....
I'd contact your credit card companies direct and find out from their end whether they have received any contact or payments from this company. If not, you'll have to explain the situation to them and start to sort out alternative methods of payment.
I'm not entirely sure of the best options for dealing with this bogus company, but I guess you'll need to make an official complaint to the financial ombudsman? And maybe also report it to the police as fraud?
I assume you have already stopped payments to them!! Get in contact with a free debt charity so you can start working on your debt properly while this all gets sorted out.Savings target: £25000/£25000

Have you tried contacting your bank to try and recall the money. Go into branch and explain the situation and see whether they can reserve the transaction.

how was the money being paid and for how long? The only company registered with the name "Platinum Management" with a Marple address had not been trading for some time0

fermi...thanks very much, thats them exactly.
have spoken to card companies, they all received a letter of authority 3 months ago but have received no payments or further contact, however they claim this is pretty normal as its only been 3 months.
my concern is the inability to make contact with them...i just smell a rat!0 -
Im using platinum management and have had no problems. Sometimes I have to ring more than once to get through to them, I assume they are busy, recently I called 01612370440 and spoke to Michelle Nurney she was really helpful. Im sure they are worth the wait0

Troll alert. New poster making favourable comments about a previously adverse thread
By the way PJ - are you aware that it is an offence to make any comment on-line about a company with which you have a relationship, or one with which your employer has a commercial relationship............. unles you fully declare that relationship? If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0 -
I'd say jump ship ASAP! Go put your money some where safe like CCCS or Payplan! xxxLife is too short not to love what you do.0

Indeed, working for Platinum Management, you would say that wouldn't you!
If you are worried about the effects of this thread on the reputation of your company, you would do far better to sort out the problem than posting drivel which would not fool a 9 year old.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature.
