online banking says type of payment POS0

POS would stand for 'Point of Sale', i.e. a debit card transaction, either by phone/online/in store.
Questions to ask yourself are:
- Did you owe the company any money?
- Had you set up any form of subscription or ongoing payment? (Even if inadvertently)
- Have any of the previous payments that you have made not been taken from your account (debit card payments can on occasions take a few weeks to show up on your account).
I would be interested to know the company name, or type of business that they do.
Have you spoken to the company at all? They will have initiated the payment, so should be able to explain what it is for.0 -
Thanks we rang them back and they have said if we didnt authorise it that it should not have been taken and we've to ring back tomorrow for a refund as they said they can only do it when the payment has already processed0

I think the most likely outcome is that when the cleared transaction has posted and the details of the company are available you will suddenly remember that you did indeed make a purchase there - it may well be over a month ago, the general consensus is that companies have up to 6 months to put through an online payment (and 6 years to require you to make a payment).0

i didnt buy anything using the card at this time, i have used the card before with them and the money was taken from my account at the same time i authorised it, then a month later without any warning they take more, i have to call the bank back tomorrow to get a refund as they said it hadnt processed yet.
the amount was much higher than any payment i have make to them in the past0
