Hi
I previously posted how happy I was with the installation of my new Anglian Windows. However, now I am not a very happy at all.
When the sales rep came all she spoke about was their A rated Ecogain windows. Over a period of a week or so I substantially got her to reduce the price. When she came back for me to sign on the dotted line when asked she confirmed that the quote was for the A rated windows.
3 weeks after installation I have received the guarantee which it states for B rated. I checked the paperwork we signed and noticed that she hadn’t ticked the type of windows we were having. However, on checking I have noticed that the surveyor had ticked B rating on his measurement forms we signed. Yes before you all tell me I should have checked what I was signing carefully but the window type boxes were so small I didn’t notice them.
The question is:
Because I signed the forms I appreciate that legally I don’t have a leg to stand on, however does anyone have any suggestions of what I should do about this?

The question is:
- Was it a mistake by the surveyor and he ticked the wrong box and therefore I didn’t get what I paid for. Or
- A case of deception by Anglian, by me getting the price reduced they substituted a lower quality window to compensate for the drop in price without saying anything
Because I signed the forms I appreciate that legally I don’t have a leg to stand on, however does anyone have any suggestions of what I should do about this?

Surely you didn't fall for their marketing clap-trap of 'A' rated windows??"You were only supposed to blow the bl**dy doors off!!"0

Relax, the windows would have been the same which ever box was ticked.0

Looks like I did. I hate it when someone gets one over me.
MX5huggy - but will the windows be the same??? They claim that the outside pane of the A rated windows reflect sun from outside in, hence the A rating and more expensive0 -
There are coatings which are available over and above the basic 'e' coating. It just depends on what Anglian's interpretation/specification is for their A and B grades
IN practical terms there may be no or little difference in performance, but if you paid for one type then what is what you should have, else there should be a price reduction.
Or it could just be a paperwork error on the guarantee0 -
Is their any independent evidence that suggests these 'coatings' do what they claim to do?"You were only supposed to blow the bl**dy doors off!!"0

Some of the rating is down to the frames and the conductivity of the spacers between the panes.0

Yes, the glass unit is certified by the British Fenestration Rating Council to get the relevant rating, and the performance figures are acceptable to the likes of building control for use in efficiency (SAP) calculations0
