when should I receive my redundancy pay

I'm being made redundant after over 19 years of service on the 30th June. My employer has given no fixed date of when we are likely to receive our redundancy pay, pilon, holiday pay and month in hand etc.
They are a very large organisation, so there are no issues in them not being able to be in a position to pay us.
My questions is though, should this not be paid to us on our last day (i.e 30th June) or do they have the right to withhold the money and make us wait until the end of July (which would have effectlvely been our next pay date).
I've been searching all over the web and cannot find a difinitive answer, all I can find is what you are entitled to which doesn't apply as our packages are enhanced due to an old running TUPE contract.
Would be grateful for any help. Thanks.

I took voluntary redundancy from the civil service last July. My final pay and p45 came on my usual pay date. My redundancy payment (not included in p45) arrived about 3-4 weeks later.
As far as I know there's no legal timeframe - they can pay when they like.Science adjusts its views based on what's observed.

Depends on the organisation, but the vast majority will have a separate process for calculating and paying redundancy etc.
You should get your normal month's pay on the payday in which your last day falls. If you're paid monthly e.g. on 25 June, you should have been paid your normal salary for June.
All other payments I would expect to go on the next payroll run. That could be the end of July, unless your employer has a "supplementary payroll" or simply pays redundancy separately.
Why not call Payroll and ask them what the process is?
And have you been paid for June?Warning ..... I'm a peri-menopausal axe-wielding maniac0 -
When I took voluntary redundancy I received most of my redundancy pay on what would have been my final pay date (I didn't have to work notice).
I did have to take the company to small claims to get the remainder though, after querying weekly for the following 6 months.0 -
Thanks for you replies, I have received my June pay 'debt free chick' as pay day is on the 27th so that went in fine yesterday.
I've just called my payroll / hr department and am a bit concerned to be told that they haven't been advised that i'm leaving or being made reduntant. It is a very large organisation so I thought that this would have been put into place already, they just said that whoever is dealing with it will need to notify them before they can do anything regarding payments.
Just seems very shambolic seeing as our entire workforce are being made redundant that they haven't put the fundamentals in place by now.
We were advised that we were being made redundant at the beginning of Jan 12 and put on a 90 day consultation period which they have now extended twice, we were then given 'official' notice on 12th May and told that we needed to work 6 weeks notice (i.e. until end of June) and would received based on my years of service 6 wks PILON plus my redundancy, month in hand and any untaken holiday for the pro-rata year.
Sorry, sound like i'm ranting now but just need to get it off of my chest, not sure if anyone else has been in the same position?0 -
OK - Payroll clearly don't have an instruction to pay you .... yet. We need to understand who gives that instruction.
Did you speak to HR as well or just payroll?
Who issued your notice on 12 May?Warning ..... I'm a peri-menopausal axe-wielding maniac0 -
My notice letter was from the partnership director
The number I have is a general number who deals with enquiries for both hr and payroll as it's centralised. They said that whoever is dealing with it for our workforce need to sort it out.
I have rang my immediate manager who has enquired with higher management and were advised that they wouldn't have been told yet as we're not officially redundant until August 12th (even though we're actually leaving end of June) due to the 6 weeks of PILON.
They've given me a number for someone who I can contact to chase it with once we've left at the end of the week. I'm kind of at a loss now as to where to go, or should I just leave it and see what happens in the next week or so?0 -

It can't be both. Either, you're terminated on 30 June with 6 weeks PILON. Or, you work until August 12th.
It's vital that you clarify this. You need to identify your termination date i.e. the date on which your employment ends.Warning ..... I'm a peri-menopausal axe-wielding maniac0 -
You're right 'debt free chick' I really think that I need to get on to them and sort out exactly who is dealing with it and get some definite answers. The letter that I have only gives me the amount of redundancy pay. It doesn't state anything about an actual finish date but we have been told and scheduled to finish at the end of this week and have been told verbally that the additional 6 weeks will be paid as PILON.0

Can you identify who works in HR? Can you do this via the internal email address book? The intranet?
If you send me a Private Message and tell me who the company is, I may be able to help. I have a wide HR network or could try some detective work via LinkedInWarning ..... I'm a peri-menopausal axe-wielding maniac0
