Car Show Prizes
Couldn't find an appropriate area to post so I've put it here, if there's a better one please move.
I belong to a national car club, we have a meeting coming up shortly and one of the members had posted on our forum that he had obtained quite a few prizes for members attending/showing their cars.
Anyhow he's fallen out with some of the admin and now has said, he'll not be attending the said meeting and keeping all the prizes himself as he had sourced them!!
Just wondering what if anything should be done as the suppliers think they have donated prizes to the club??

You need to ask on the legal forum. I believe you'll find that he is only holding the items in trust for the club, and they can be demanded from him. I imagine it will be complicated if the club is not a legal entity (eg. a company).0

Hey Skulls, I was one of the original founders of the UKHCC, so I know exactly how you feel and what a pain it is. Handed over and left the scene a while now.
In my own experience, a recognised 'Leader' of the club talking calmly to the member will probably go a long way to resolving this.
Worse case, you can threaten to go to the suppliers and inform them that they goods they donated to this individual are not beeing passed on. TBH, most of they wont bother with chasing him, but you will find your club on the 'do not donate' list.
Where you heading? Moddified Nationals?0 -
Thanks for advice, sorry for delay in answering been busy at work, only a fairly small club about 1500 members throughout Europe. I don't think taking any further action would help anyone, but just wanted someone else's view, which is the same as I thought. It's not worth the hassle.
Thanks again0
