Hi Everyone,
I Have Been Trying To Sort Out My Sons Problem With This Company, He Has Been Off Work Sick Since March 2003.
We Have Written To Them In The Past If They Would Freeze The Interest But They Would Not.
In August Last Year My Son Give His Authority To Them For Me To Deal With His Affairs, I Wrote To Them And Eventually I Managed To Get A Six Month Payment Break, This Has Frozen The Acount For 26 Weeks To End Of March.
After Reading Martins Tips I Have Applied For Six Years Statements Which I Have Recorded On A Spread Sheet They Have Charged Him An Average Of £9.00 Every Month For Payment Break =£500 Plus Some Late Payment Fees At £24 Also Overlimit Fees £20.
Before I Proceed To The Next Step Of Trying To Reclaim These Charges Can Anyone Explain What The Payment Break Charges Are For When He Has Never Had A Payment Break Until August 06.
Thanks
Kenneth Batty

hi kenneth and welcome to mms,
the payment break charges are possibly misleading and are charges , for example, this could be a charge on top of his outstanding balance such as payment protection?
what exactly does it say on his statemnet? and how much does he owe? x0 -
Thanks For Your Response, He Owes 1200 It Was 1400 But I Got Some Of The Charges Knocked Off.
Every Month The Statements Just Say Payment Break £8 Or £9 Odds, It Looks As Though It May Be Charged As A Percentage As It Varies By Pennys.
The Harges For Payment Breaks Are £500
Charges For Late Payment £300
Charges For Overlimit Drawing £250
Total A Grand.
The Thing I Cannot Get My Head Round Is Now He Is On Official Payment Break No Charges Are Applied, The Way Payment Breaks Are Entered On Tghe Statement Leads One To Believe He Is On A Break.
The Daft Thing About This He Has Been Paying It Since 2001.
Any Help Would Be Greatfully Recieved

I would look into cliaming these charges back,
did your son take out payment protection?0 -
Hi No He Did Not Take Out Protection, when You Are Working You Dont Always Expect To Be Out Of Work Due To Sickness.
I Will Send The Second Letter Requesting The Charges Be Repaid, and See Where It Goes, Nothing To Lose.
Thanks Again

Hi Ken.
Just a tip for you - don't start every word with a capital letter. It makes it a little difficult to readThis space has been intentionally left blank0 -

It's a forum thing. The original post was probably all in capital letters, so the software converts it as above.0 -
Hi Chaps,
Sorry about the caps, it is a habit i just bang everything out in caps,it saves me correcting afterwards.
Will try harder in future
