Car insurance claim dilemma, advice needed

My Audi A6 is insured with a well known insurers and was hit recently while parked on the road and whoever hit it has fled the scene. There is no CCTV in the street or anywhere nearby so I will never be able to catch the scumbag.
I've started to make a claim on my insurance for total loss but now not sure whether to proceed. My premium is around £75 PCM and I have 4 years NCB but don't think it's protected.
The car was a 2000 auto model which has been pimped with a sports exhaust and privacy glass and lowered but also had an LPG conversion which the insurers are aware of.
They have yet to give me a settlement figure but have told me that the settlement is based on a Glass's guide value and other factors like the LPG conversion won't be taken into account in the value. I have a feeling they will come back with a figure of around 1800 but they are also saying I have a 600 excess which would be taken from that, and that also they would take out the remainder of the year's insurance premium, and if and when I get a replacement car they will take this off the new premium!?!
The way it's looking I'll end up with 1800 - 600 - 600 leaving me with 600 to try and buy a replacement car. To get an equivalent car with LPG conversion, the only others advertised are over 3k and to get the kit taken off my car and put on another would be around 1k if I did it that way. Both ways, excluding the excess I will be nearly 2k short and will have lost my NCB.
I'm starting to think it may end up cheaper to withdraw the claim and get the car fixed myself using panels from eBay
Does anyone have any advice? This really doesn't seem fair on me as I wasn't even at fault but neither the insurance company or the police seem like they're prepared to help me.
