Its called an Erroneous Transfer and its sadly very common and always has been.
Sometimes even your neighbours cause it by picking up your MPAN/MPRN for their contract in error.
Call your supplier and tell them this asking they block the transfer. If too late, call the new supplier and tell them inside the contracts cooling off period. If its too late for that, tell your real supplier and they transfer you back and you never pay anything to the erroneous supplier as you have no legal contract with them.:rotfl: It's better to live 1 year as a tiger than a lifetime as a worm...but then, whoever heard of a wormskin rug!!!:rotfl:0 -

You really should be careful -even on the internet - about accusations of a scam and putting it as a title of a thread.0

Yes, perhaps retitle it as :
A northerly based power supplier have erroneously transferred my supply. I am sure they didn't mean it and I hope they don't mind me asking about it.
The other possibility is that the wrong vowel was used for which a libel defence of fair comment might be succesful.0 -

Surely if you switched and locked into a tariff BEFORE they raised their prices you would have won a watch?
Your price would be locked at the no longer available rate for x months.0 -
I found that Scottish Power are charging me a 5% surcharge on 2 out of 3 accounts I have for paying for electricity quarterly by DD. Most suppliers give discounts for paying by DD. The accounts are paid by a business. I complained and they said "pay monthly". I said OK bill me monthly. They said they don't bill monthly so just pay an amount monthly. I said that is wrong - no business pays an amount without a bill for VAT reasons and to keep books straight etc.
I asked them why the third account did not have this surcharge. They said it did. I studied the bill and it does but it is hidden (the total is more than the addition of the items). I pointed out that this account was always in credit due to excess estimates. They said "so what".
5% for paying an average of one month late (one month two months late, one month one month late and one month on time) is an annual interest rate of 60%.
This is a blatant rip off.0
